Erika Lieberman is a composer and musician with extensive experience creating music in styles ranging from symphonic orchestra to modern pop and ethnic folk. She performs regularly playing the Celtic harp, guitar, djembe, bodhran and Irish whistle with her early music consort Sweet Amaryllis, and has worked as a musical director and resident composer for various Shakespearean Theater companies.
Erika has contributed music to films and television shows such as Satan's Little Helper (2005), Till Death Do Us Part (2007) starring John Waters, and feature-length epic docudrama Guiana 1838 (2007). In April 2007, her score for the short film, That's My Majesty, was performed live at Lincoln Center in New York City. In 2008 and 2009 she worked on various short films, including Cannibal Cheerleader Camp by Paul Busetti. Also in 2009 she launched her game music company, Sonic Legends, for which she regularly composes soundscapes.
One of the strengths that sets Erika apart as a composer is her use of exotic instruments and folk styles and applying them to an orchestral or modern musical setting. She has a working roster of musicians who play a range of exotic instruments such as sitar, serod, oud, tablas, Uillean pipes, concertina and hammered dulcimer. Her understanding of rare and ethnic instruments and the effects they produce, combine a unique blend of the esoteric to her music whether she's scoring a horror movie, a video game or a period film.
With her graduate studies in Music Technology and Film Scoring at New York University, Erika combines her musical performance and production background with a wealth of technical expertise. Her studio includes high-quality sample libraries, and is also equipped for live recording.
Erika will create a unique, high-caliber score to suit your needs. Whether your project calls for a live band or orchestra or if you need a score that sounds like it's live but you don't have the budget, Erika can mix and match live instruments with high-quality samples from her extensive sample collection to create a distinctive musical score for your project.

"Erika is a talented, unique composer with a style that is wholly her own. When you listen to a piece of music or film score composed by Erika, you can hear her compositional voice shining through. She has an authentic understanding of rare and ethnic instruments and the folk styles they are used to play, and when she combines them with her modern film score and classic orchestral writing, it creates something thrilling and emotionally powerful.
